Émile Müller & Company produced ceramics for use in architecture and regularly exhibited its products and innovations at international exhibitions, earning a number of awards. At the turn of the century it worked with artists who sought new technical and aesthetic properties for ceramics. Among the most well-known artists were Eugène Grasset, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Alexandre Charpentier and Hector Guimard. This conical vase, featuring a distinctively indented neck and decorated with a teal-speckled warm taupe crystalline glaze, was purchased
